I just returned from Philadelphia and it is time to get back to work up in here. The worst aren’t credit counselors at all, writes Liz Pulliam Weston for MSN.com’s personal finance column. She says that they typically bill themselves as experts in “debt settlement,” they pledge to make it possible for you to get rid of your debts for pennies on the dollar — after you pay an upfront fee that can run $3,000 or even more.
Weston says that by the time she hears about these outfits, they’ve already fled with people’s cash, “disconnected their phones and set up shop somewhere new with a different name.”
Who Can Benefit By Credit Counseling?
Judging by how these sorts of “services” have proliferated, there is an abundance of consumers in financial distress. Consumer debt has been run up to astronomical levels, and bankruptcies are high despite so called “reforms” that were enacted during the Bush administration to make them more difficult for consumers.
Weston reports that it isn’t easy to find out just how many people have signed up for debt repayment plans through credit-counseling services. If you need a good philadelphia credit counseling then I think that these guys can probaly help you. Obviously they are based in Philadelphia, pennsylvania. She cites Lydia Sermons-Ward, spokeswoman for the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, who says that of those in debt repayment plans, roughly half were expected to complete their plans. The other half were unsuccessful and some of those would end up in bankruptcy.
What Credit Counselors Do and How They Make Money
Liz Pulliam Weston says that usually counseling services negotiate lower payments with credit-card companies and other lenders, then make the payments using a check or electronic funds transfer sent to them by the consumer each month.

Chemica peel is a procedure which has been rapidly gaining in popularity in recent years along with breast enlargement and facial reconstruction, etc. A chemical peel procedure takes about 15 minutes. It takes one to three weeks of recovery time. They are performed in a doctor’s office. Deeper peels necessitate anesthesia, but lighter peels frequently do not. The number of treatments required for the best results vary between individuals. Results can last up to several months. As an aside if you are looking for a top firm concerning breast enlargement augmentation or implants, this one can help. They ca also assist with breast reconstruction as well.
During a peel procedure, the chemical solution is applied usually over the entire face. The chemical solution works to “peel” away the outer surface layers of the skin that often contain dead skin. The chemical solution also kindles the production of new skin cells.
During the procedure a cool, warm or hot sensation is generated that can last for 10 minutes or more. You may also experience a stinging sensation.
The provider of the treatment will provide instructions to encourage healing and reduce the risk of complications. It’s best to avoid all makeup and stay out of the sun for up to two weeks. You will need sunblock with an SPF of 15 or higher before you go outside.
The way an individual’s skin may react to a chemical peel will vary. Some skin is more sensitive and fragile, and some peel solution is stronger. In the first two weeks the skin may erupt with blemishes until the renewal process is complete. It may feel like the skin has been sunburned

Even paradise has fires. There was one fire last Sunday (January 3, 2010) in Hawaiian Acres on the Big Island of Hawaii. An empty one-story house caught fire and collapsed by the time firemen got there about 30 minutes later! Firefighters had fully extinguished the fire by 9:45 p.m Capt. Allyn Albrechtson, of the Keaau Fire Station says that the loss is estimated to be about $90,000. Someone reported the fire on Road 11, off of Road D, at 8 p.m. Robert Driver owns the 20-by-40-foot house. It was totally engulfed in flames and had fallen in on itself by the time got there, Albrechtson said.
Two west Hawaii ranch real estate property fires were still to burning on Monday at Tom Pace’s Hokukano Ranch and Kealakekua Ranch. Battalion Chief Dennis Iyo said the fires were both within the firebreaks, though. Iyo said the fire at Hokukano Ranch was “closer to being extinguished.” That fire that had been re-ignited on Friday was it originally reported Dec. 25. Times are tough everywhere! On the Big Island of Hawaii school meals are probably the cheapest grinds in town, but prices are going up today. Kids will have to pay as much as 76 percent more. The prices for breakfast will go up as much as 171 percent! As an aside if you are looking for some Big Island Real Estate then I do suggest this particular firm, they are solid.
The Big Island’s Department of Education officials say they have to do it to fight the state’s big-time budget shortfall. The department spent $31 million last year and $27 million in the 2007-08 school year on the lunches. That includes the employee wages, and also electricity, kitchen equipment, as well as all the ingredients.According to DOE school food services director Glenna Owens, it currently costs about $4.40 to feed each student lunch. Food must be paid for—even in Hawaiian paradise, some of the top real estate on the planet!

The spouse who files for divorce—or dissolution of marriage–is known as the Petitioner. The Petitioner is the spouse who begins the filing procedure with the family law or domestic relations court.

The non-filing spouse is known as the Respondent. The Respondent is the spouse who does not file the initial dissolution of marriage papers, but instead receive the filing papers, and is issued a summons by the court.
In order to file for divorce, otherwise technically known as dissolution of marriage in the state of Washington, residency must be proven. The court must have jurisdictional rights to hear the case or it will be dismissed sooner or later. A good lawyer can help.
To fulfill the requirements you must:
•	Be a resident of the state
•	Be a member of the armed forces and stationed in this state
•	Be married to a party who is a resident of this state or who is a member of the armed forces and is stationed in this state. If you happen to need a top Washington divorce lawyer then I do suggest this resource.
Ninety days must elapse from the time the petition for a dissolution of marriage is filed until the court will act upon the petition by issuing a summons on the respondent. (Revised Code of Washington – Title 26 – Chapters: 26.09.010, 26.09.030). Make sure to get a good lawyer for this kind of thing.

In Seattle dui and criminal related news, Seattle’s Komo News reported a story today, December 8, 2009, began with these words, ‘My Brother Had Tire Tracks on his chest.’ Lindsay Cohen wrote the story.
According to Cohen, the family of a man killed in a hit-and-run by a suspected drunk driver cried out in anguish on Monday as the driver stood before the judge. A relative of Jerome Dumlao yelled, “Murderer! You killed my brother. He’s not coming back.” The family of Dumlao clung to one another. Another family member lashed out, crying, “Murderer!” If you decide that you require a first rate Seattle DUI attorney I do sugges this law firm. They are dui specialists ans can provide a top attorney.Eric Murillo, 23 years old, is believed to have been driving drunk when he allegedly ran over Dumlao. The family says Dumlao was crossing the street at the intersection of Bell and Western around 2:25 a.m., following a night out with his friends when he was struck and killed on Sunday.
His family said Dumlao, a local FedEx driver, had gotten married the previous year. He was looking forward to starting a family.

There were 15,168 bankruptcy filings in Washington State in 2007. In 2008, there were 21,452. With the year almost at an end in 2009, there have been 23,040. Last year, Washington ranked 12th in the nation in bankruptcies. That figure was up from 27th the year before.
In 2005, filings peaked nearly 47,000. Last year filings in Washington fell, certainly not because the economy was so great and people were doing so well, but largely due to the change in law in 2005. Many people believed they couldn’t file bankruptcy anymore after George Bush signed the new laws into effect. Speaking of that if you need a leading Washington Bankruptcy lawyer then I want to suggest this resource. A very good such lawyer indeed.
Newsweek’s conservative columnist, Jane Bryant Quinn, wrote an article published last Jan. 3, 2009, titled, The Case For Walking Away. Quinn wrote, “Normally I’d say suck it up, cut spending and repay your debt. But not if you’re going broke.”
Jane Bryant Quinn says we’re supposed to sit down and organize our personal finances in January. She says, “I’ll risk my good-girl reputation with a subversive idea: go bankrupt in 2009. If you’re reaching the end of your rope, don’t try to hold on. Save what you can.”
You’re so right Jane, when you talk about bankruptcy being painful and humiliating even to contemplate. And it takes a long time to recover from financially—and if you have a conscience and a sense of personal responsibility—even longer to recover from psychologically. Just make sure to get a good lawyer if necessary.

Kieran Nicholson writing for the Denver Post, published an article online on December 2, 2009, that begins; Driver hits police car stopped on I-25. All in all, Kieran reports that yesterday afternoon at 1:05 p.m., on I-25, a driver rear-ended a police car. The squad car was stopped at the site of an accident, according to the police. Perhaps someone could use a good Denver criminal lawyer in this case? The police officer was not in his police car when the driver hit the cruiser. The driver sustained minor injuries. The first accident that the squad car was stopped for involved a red Saturn SUV and a black Jeep Cherokee. It occurred in the southbound lanes of I-25 near 136th Avenue, according to a Westminster Police Spokesman, Trevor Materasso.Materasso explained that the police car was parked on the side of the highway. It had its over-head lights flashing. The driver of a 1989 Jeep Wrangle hit it from behind, Materasso said. Innocent untill proven guilty but in my personal opinion this smacks of some criminal activity such as drunk driving, dui, etc. I guess someone may possibly need a criminal defense layer somewhere along the line.
Materasso said the Wrangler rolled on its side after hitting the police car. The driver of the Jeep was cut out of his vehicle by firefighters.
There were no serious injuries in either accident, Materasso said. The accidents did not require the highway to be shut down. Also according to the Post, last month three Colorado state troopers, in two separate accidents, were injured while outside of their police vehicles as they attended to accidents on icy roads.
In November, two of the three troopers were seriously injured in accidents occurring during the same weekend.

Spokesman Materasso said that drivers passing accidents should slow down to give emergency workers plenty of room.

In some bad injury and accident related news coming out of Philadelphia, It was reported in WPVI-TV Philadelphia’s online Action News today, December 3, 2009, that a sport utility vehicle smashed into a day care center at 12:15 p.m., today. The car was running from the police. Four children and an employee suffered personal injury, the police reported. All in all, Police were chasing an SUV whose occupants reportedly had just robbed a Family Dollar Store. Two people were arrested.
For their part, ABC Action News reported that Lt. Jeff Duhamell of the Indianapolis police said that there were about 18 children inside the Stepping Stones Child Care building when the SUV crashed into the brick building located on the city’s north side. As an aside if you need a top notch trucking or Philadelphia truck accident attorney then Mark Rosenberg could be your man. For that matter, he can also assist you with things like construction, bus, bike and even bicycle accident as well. He is a leading personal injury attorney overall.
Kara Hardister runs the Stepping Stones Child Care Center. She said the crash sent bricks flying into a room for 3-year-olds just before time to put them down to nap.
40 to 45 children are usually in the building around the noon hour. Today, however, about two dozen on a field trip, at that time, Hardister said. She was quoted as saying, “It’s just senseless, just senseless, that innocent people have to go through this.” Time to find agood truck accident attorney I suppose.

Here are some interesting facts concerning the state of Hawaii: 1.	Hawaii is further from any other populated land on earth. It is 2,390 miles from the coast of the mainland of the United States. It is 3,850 miles from Japan. It is 5,280 miles from the Phillipines.
2.The Hawaiian alphabet consists of only 12 letters; A, E, I, O, U, H, K, L, M, N, P, and W.
3.Hawaii has eight main islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island of Hawaii. 4.From the Kure Atoll in the north to the Island of Hawaii in the south, the Hawaiian Archipelago has 130 scattered bits of land, and its length spans about 1,600 miles.
5..Hawaii is the only state in America that grows coffee.
By the way if you are in the state and need a Hawaii Nissan dealership then I do suggest this key resource. Here you can rent a Nissan at a reasonable rate.
6.On August 20th, 1959, Hawaii was admitted as the 50th state of the union.
7.Undersea volcanoes formed the Hawaiian Islands. The earth’s plates moved over the “hot spot” in the ocean floor, and the Islands were born from west to east.
8.All minerals below the ocean belong to the state. However, there are few underground minerals.
Bauxite under Kauai happens to be one of them.
9.The average daytime temperature in July is 82′ F. The average daytime temperature in January is 72′ F. The wind blows from east to west. The highest temperature ever recorded is 96′ F. It reaches 92’F normally only once or twice a year. The lowest temperature under 3000 feet altitude is 56′ F. Temperatures under 60′ F occur usually no more than once a year.
10.Hawaii follows Hawaiian Standard Time. There is no daylight savings time. The time follows two hours behind Pacific Standard Time.
11.Everyone is a minority in Hawaii. Caucasians only make up about 34%; Japanese-American about 32%; Filipino-American about 16% and Chinese-American about 5%. However, most of the population is of mixed of ethnicity. So now you know all about the state, including where to rent a Nissan car.

For his part, he states that if you look at the comparative percentages from the past 4 months of sales year to year, you start to see just how great these October numbers are. “Many economists are saying the worst of this recession is behind us,” he says.
What’s going on? Margolis lists increased affordability, first time home buyer’s credits (for local residents), “supremely low interest rates,” and the sense that the economy is improving. Switching gears for a moment if you requre Kauai Real Estate help I do suggest this specific firm overall. They are great and are centrally based in Lihue.
“Well we’re into a new month, November, and there are two months left to this year. Often times in the “neighbor island” markets (Kauai, Maui, Hawaii, Molokai, Lanai), the fall season is very slow and the market does not pickup until winter when tourism increases, snowbirds arrive, and many mainland residents seek refuge from the cold of winter by traveling to the tropics. This year is a little different,” Margolis says, reciting the real estate trends.
